Youth Dance Classes
At Riverside Theatre Education, our dance program recognizes that learning a dance is very different than learning to dance. Our professional instructors seek to impart skills that will equip our students for success in, and out, of the dance studio. Regardless of age, we provide a structured and rigorous environment that reflects the physical, intellectual, and emotional skills the study of dance develops.
The newly restructured dance education program at Riverside Theatre features youth classes that contain multiple genres within each level for ages 4 and up. Beginning with creative movement training that imparts developmentally appropriate physical, intellectual, and emotional skills, and progressing through leveled class encompassing top-notch training in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary forms, we have taken the guesswork out of what your child should be learning and when. Classes begin in August for the year, but we are happy to accept new students throughout the school year, provided classes are not full.

Our instructors are all either current or former professional dancers who equip students for success both in and out of the studio.
Dance Classes (Ages 4-18)
First Steps (4 Year Olds): Tuesday 4:15-5:00 ($150 Per Quarter)
Beginning Ballet/Beginning Jazz (5 Year Olds): Thursday 4:00-5:00 ($150 Per Quarter)
Level I (6-7 Year Olds): Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-6:00 ($300 Per Quarter)
Level II (8-10 Year Olds): Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00-7:00 ($500 Per Quarter)
Level III (11-13 Year Olds): Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-7:00 ($750 Per Quarter)
Level IV (13-18 Year Olds): Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-7:00 ($700 Per Quarter)

Dress Code
All students must follow appropriate hair and dress code requirements for participation in dance classes. Hair must be secured off the face ideally in a ballet bun. Ladies are required to wear simple black leotards and pink tights (no skirts or shorts) with matching ballet shoes. Gentlemen are required to wear simple white t-shirts and black tights with matching ballet shoes. As students progress through the program, pointe, jazz, and tap shoes may be required and dress code may be loosened at the discretion of individual instructors.

Refund Policy: Tuition is refundable up to three days before the first day of each class less a $15 cancellation fee. A 50% refund less a $15 cancellation fee will be given up to the second day of class. There will be NO REFUNDS after the second day of class and full tuition will be charged as well as a $15.00 cancellation fee.
A note about our calendar and classes: The dates listed above are the ONLY dates we are closed throughout the year. We will be open all holidays that fall outside of what is listed above. Should a class fall below required number of classes (based on tuition charged), make up classes will be scheduled. Cancellations/makeup classes usually are scheduled for Saturdays between the hours of 10 and 1.
